Dr. Kevin McBride and David Naumec of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center will provide a brief overview of the Pequot War and present news from recent archaeological survey work at the Porters Rocks and Mystic Fort battlefield sites. Learn about the uncovered artifacts, new insights from completed work and discuss how these discoveries reveal an ebb and flow of the battle.
Lecturers will also share the research design as the project begins formal research towards the Saybrook Fort site and associated skirmishes of the Pequot War on Saybrook Point. This research is made possible by the National Park Service American Battlefield Protection Program planning grant that the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center received for this upcoming year.
Lecture is open to the public, and there is no admission fee. Many thanks to the Old Saybrook Historical Society for helping with this program.
See you there!
