Archaeology Field Schools with UConn

By working together, the University of Connecticut, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center and Kevin McBride (MPMRC research director and UConn associate professor of anthropology) the Pequot War project has become more than just research; it has become the teacher.
Over 150 university students have experienced archaeology on 17th century battlefields first-hand working with Pequot War project staff. Our students have come from colleges across the country, and their experiences have been truly unique! While in field school, they visit sites across New England, meet professionals who work in archaeological disciplines…and get their hands dirty, too.
Check out our 2013 Battlefield Field School Flyer. We’re excited to meet this summer’s students! They’re pretty lucky; they might be spending quite a bit of time down in Old Saybrook at the site of Saybrook Fort…
